Successful Installation of Coastal Protection in Fuvahmulah
Published on September 28, 2025
We are pleased to announce the successful completion and handover of a critical coastal protection project in Fuvahmulah City. This initiative involved the construction of a 450-meter rock boulder revetment along the most vulnerable stretch of the island’s coastline, providing essential defense against persistent erosion and storm surges. Fuvahmulah, with its unique geography, has long faced challenges from coastal erosion that threatened residential areas and vital infrastructure. Recognizing the urgency, Two A Company was contracted to design and implement a durable, long-term solution. Our team of coastal engineers conducted extensive surveys and wave modeling to determine the optimal design for the revetment, ensuring it could withstand the specific environmental conditions of the area. The project utilized over 15,000 tons of high-grade armor rock, carefully sourced and transported to the site by our specialized logistics division, Two A Logistics. The construction process was executed with meticulous attention to detail, employing advanced placement techniques to ensure the interlocking and stability of the rock structure. This method creates a robust barrier that effectively dissipates wave energy, minimizing its impact on the shoreline. Throughout the project, our team worked closely with the Fuvahmulah City Council and local community members, providing regular updates and ensuring minimal disruption to daily life. We also adhered to stringent environmental protocols to protect the surrounding marine ecosystem during construction. The completion of this revetment is a significant achievement that enhances the safety and resilience of the Fuvahmulah community. It stands as a prime example of Two A Company’s expertise in coastal engineering and our commitment to safeguarding the Maldivian islands against the growing threats of climate change. We are proud to deliver infrastructure that not only meets technical specifications but also provides lasting peace of mind for the residents it protects.
