Published on September 28, 2025
Two A Company Pvt Ltd is proud to announce the successful completion of the landmark land reclamation and shore protection project in Addu Atoll, a significant milestone for the region’s infrastructure and economic development. This extensive project, commissioned by the Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure, involved the reclamation of 194.3 hectares of land across Hithadhoo, Maradhoo, and Maradhoo-Feydhoo, effectively expanding the habitable and commercial zones of the southernmost atoll of the Maldives. Our state-of-the-art cutter suction dredger, the “Jarraafa,” was instrumental in executing the dredging operations with precision and efficiency. The project scope was comprehensive, encompassing not only the creation of new land but also the construction of vital coastal defense structures. A total of 4,896 meters of rock boulder revetment and 2,076 meters of geobag revetment were meticulously installed to protect the newly reclaimed areas from coastal erosion and tidal forces, ensuring the long-term sustainability of the development. This undertaking was not without its challenges, including complex logistical hurdles in transporting materials to the remote atoll and navigating sensitive marine ecosystems. However, through strategic planning, adherence to strict environmental protocols, and the relentless dedication of our skilled team of over 450 professionals on-site, we successfully delivered the project on schedule. The completion of this project is a testament to Two A Company’s capability in handling large-scale, complex marine engineering works. It opens up unprecedented opportunities for housing, tourism, and commercial ventures in Addu, promising a brighter, more prosperous future for its residents and the Maldivian economy as a whole. We are honored to have been the chosen partner for this transformative initiative and remain committed to contributing to the nation-building efforts of the Maldives.
